I want to incorporate a leopard print and red lilies into something really intricate and pretty for my prom.
Makeup Tips
by ShyKC, Thank you for sharing your original idea. Theme prom makeup is a new trend and if you're participating in a masquerade prom you'll want to create a look that will last all night. Since more schools are opting for masquerade balls as theme proms, here are 5 makeup tips to keep in mind when you're creating your fantasy makeup:
Makeup Tip 1: Think of the event as an all night marathon because you are going to be a crowd and probably moving constantly, which means you need makeup that stays on. Use either a matte or oil-free makeup primer.
Makeup Tip 2: An eye makeup primer is a must. It should be oil-free, too. You could even use a MAC paint pot eyeshadow. Painterly is a good color to work with. Very natural looking.
Makeup Tip 3: Make sure your mascara and eyeliners are all waterproof. The fact is that perspiration effects your face makeup. You want to keep your design as fresh looking as possible.
Makeup Tip 4: When creating a fantasy makeup design for a masquerade prom, planning is the key. You need to give the design a test run. Plan out the design and then apply and wear it at home for one evening (maybe when you're cleaning your room) and see how it holds up.
Makeup Tip 5: Take a digital photo of the design in advance. Sometimes a design looks very different on camera and if you're having photos taken you want to look your best.
Prom is a once in a lifetime event and the best tip anyone can give you is to have a great time!
