Vampire makeup isn’t for the faint of heart! Unless of course, you are a vampire in which case it’s perfectly normal. Like most makeup looks this makeup style can be either subtle or extreme, depending on your preference.
Pale Foundation Makeup
If you’re delving into vampire makeup for the first time then think about creating a pale base with foundation. The reason for this is that it creates a more vivid contrast and puts the focus on either your eyes or lips.
Choose a foundation one to two shades lighter than you normally wear unless you shun the sun and are already naturally pale.
Bring focus to your eyes and if you’re creating fantasy makeup then crazy contact lenses can be used to add a wild look.
Colored contact lenses add mystery to your look!
Vampire Makeup Goes Romantic
If you’ve been following the romance of Bella and Edward from the Twilight then you know vampire makeup has taken a new twist!
You can take normal makeup and recreate romantic vampire looks by playing down the drama and playing up the color intensity. Keep them asking “Is she? Or, isn’t she?” It’s all the fun of being a vampire without any of the fuss! Make them look into your eyes…
Dark Vampire Eyes
There are a wide range of options available when it comes to the eyes, but nothing defines this look as well as dark eyeshadow. Choose from purples, grays, pewter or black. Doing a smokey eye look in a deep purple color will give you a dark vampire look quickly.
If you prefer not to wear eyeshadow at all, don’t worry. You can still accomplish a mysterious look by wearing just eyeliner. Simply extend the line a little beyond the outer corner of your eyes and just curve the line up slightly. You want thick fluffy eyelashes. Use black mascara because brown does not show well in the evening.
Mineral Veil
Skip the blush entirely for this look. The whole point of the look is to put the focus on the eyes and the mouth. Blush simply detracts from the contrast between a pale face and the depth of both the eyes and lips. Rather than blush, use mineral veil all over and consider using translucent shimmer on your cheeks.
Red Lipstick or Pale Lipstick
If you love red lipstick or deep berry colored lipstick then go for it. If you’re not a fan of red lipstick then don’t worry. Red lipstick is actually optional. For the evening it can really enhance the look, but you do have other options.
Pale lipstick also works with this style. You can simply use foundation and then top it with a clear lipstick or none at all. If you choose to go with pale lips then make sure to really play up your eyes with a colorful smokey eye makeup look.
Halloween Vampire Makeup
If you’re dressing up for Halloween and want a more extreme vampire look then simply add vampire fangs. You can also take a black eyeliner pencil and draw a fang on outside corners of your lower lip.
For looks that are over-the-top use black eyeliner pencil to draw lightning bolts going from your hairline down to your cheek. Another way is to draw one lightning bolt from above the eye area down to your cheek.
When it comes to dark vampire makeup – less is more. The black clothing and paleness of your face is more than enough to pull off this look, so don’t worry too much about the makeup. Just keep it playful for a night of fun.
