“Mica pigments work like magic!”
There’s an incredible mineral blush secret that most people don’t know about. It’s a really neat method to make mineral blush into blush stain – Instantly! In fact, once you know this secret, you’ll understand immediately why it works like magic to give you blush that lasts all day!
Blush Stain or Liquid Blush
First, to understand how this recipe works, I want you to look at the ingredients for your favorite blush stain or blush tint. What does it contain? Mostly…
- Water
- Glycerin
- Pigment
You probably already knew that liquid blush contains mostly water. Glycerin is simply in there to make it glide across your skin and not absorb as quickly. In fact, if you ever paint with watercolor paints (not on your face!) you can add a drop or two of glycerin to slow down how fast the paint dries. So, blush stain is mainly water, glycerin and some pigment for color and preservatives.
Mineral Blush Recipe
This is absolutely the easiest way to make a mineral blush stain. You can use this recipe when you want to create a natural look
1. Take an empty lipgloss container. It should be clean. Swipe it with an alcohol wipe to sterilize it.
2. Fill with a few drops of distilled water. You can buy it at the grocery store.
3. Add 1/16 teaspoon ( a pinch) of Mineral Mica Pigment in a color you like. You can use the same mineral mica pigments that you
make lipgloss with. Swirl until mixed. Add additional mica pigment as needed.
How to Apply Blush Tint
To apply, take a white makeup wedge. Moisten it with water first and squeeze. Now, dip it into your mixture and apply on your cheeks.
You will see that the color goes on sheer! That’s even without the glycerin.
If you want the color darker, then wait for it to dry and put another layer over it. You can even use a different shade.
Altering makeup formulas is really easy. Don’t be intimidated by makeup. It’s mostly just bases, pigments and binders. Read up on what’s really in your cosmetics on the homemade makeup page. You’ll find out why it’s so easy to tweak your products and make them work for you.
