One Big Makeup Secret
Now, here’s the “one big secret” that all makeup tips and tricks are based on – create a smooth surface first. A smooth surface insures easier makeup application. Your look will last longer, too.
You can do this at home in three ways:
1. Microdermabrasion – it removes the outermost layer of dead skin.
2. Moisturize and hydrate your skin – to plump up your skin.
3. Makeup primer – it creates a barrier that will smooth your skin surface.
Makeup primers work instantly!
You Can Look Like A Model
Most models look like the rest of us. The difference is that they know the best way to use makeup tips and tricks to their advantage because they are in constant contact with makeup artists and dermatologists. Every woman should have these items in their basic makeup kit and know how to work with them:
Natural color lipstick pencil – They’re usually called “Spice”. You can choose one even a little darker than your natural lip color. Apply lip liner even if you are going with a natural look. The trick here is to exfoliate lips first, then lightly outline your lips. Now, take a little cotton swab and simply blend the lip liner inward. It lightens it the natural way. Then, apply your lip gloss or custom lipstick over it.
Natural color eyebrow pencil – You want at least one, if not two eyebrow pencils. One should be a close match to your eyebrow color. If you are using a second one, make it just a little darker. A pencil with a very thin point is perfect for drawing in tiny little lines that looks just like brows. Then you simply use a clean eyebrow brush to blend them.
Brown eyeliner pencil – Think multiple use. You can go with a light brown or dark brown, but you’ll use it the same way. You can line your eyes and then smudge it and reapply for a deep look. If you want a classic makeup look, then sharpen it to a fine point and apply it in a thin line. It can even be used in the crease of your eye as eye shadow. Just remember to smudge it.
Matte powder product – Choose a tan blush, matte eyeshadow or matte bronzer to use as contouring or eyeshadow. The color should be only one or two shades darker than your skin tone. You can use it to contour cheekbones, get rid of a double chin, or in place of eyeshadow.
Shimmer – Used sparingly, you’ll find that a shimmer eyeshadow works in a pinch for evening looks. Just one dab in the center of your lips look just like gloss. A sheer swipe on your cheekbones (over your blush) turns any blush into shimmer blush. Of course, it’s perfect under the brows for elegant looks, too.
Try one or two of these makeup tips and tricks to improve your makeup look immediately. Then select one area of your face to work on – eyes, lips, cheeks – and collect tips for your own makeup notebook. Take your time and you’ll create a look you enjoy wearing over and over.
