“How To Find The Best”
You know a makeup case is in your future when your current cosmetic bag is so overstuffed you can’t find your favorite beauty products. That’s when it’s time to go considerably larger and get the space you need for organizing and storing your beauty essentials. You don’t have to break the bank when you’re buying one, but you do need to have ample space to be able to grab your items quickly.
What sets a makeup case apart from just regular bags are it’s interior compartments. Most have multiple little box type areas to keep your makeup brushes, pencils, lipsticks and foundations. Then there’s usually a larger compartment or two to place your bigger items like an airbrush.
Professional Makeup Cases
There are two main types and which one you choose will probably depend on how many cosmetics you have and how much you are willing to spend. The professional cases are meant for travel and they’re usually made very well and are designed to last. However, you can also get some of the same features in a cheap makeup case, but you’ll have to shop around. Here are some points to keep in mind:
- Professional cosmetic carriers are built of a hard durable material and range in size from small to very large.
- Smaller ones with the pull out drawers work well in your bathroom vanity or on your nightstand.
- The larger ones have rolling wheels – a necessity because all those cosmetics get heavy.
- Consider the purpose, if you’re attending seminars or traveling any distance with those rolling wheels will come in handy.
One thing to keep in mind when you are choosing a cosmetic case is to think about the quality. You want to get the best that you can afford.
Affordable Makeup Cases
You actually have some very good alternatives in the under $50 range. You can usually find metal cases that will work perfectly well if you are only opening the case in the morning and again in the evening. The nice metal finish makes it easy to clean the case.
An alternative that we’re all familiar with are the fishing tackle boxes, tool boxes and now even scrapbooking organizers. Many of these work just as well as the ones made for cosmetics. The advantage of the scrapbooking organizers is that they often come with a cloth case which has shoulder straps so you can carry around your items with ease.
The truth is that most makeup artists have several different cases. Buying smaller has its advantages. You can use one case for cosmetics that you normally wear during the summer and another for winter. All of your skin care products could be put into another for convenience. If this would would better for you then pick up a professional label maker and use it to tag the outside of the boxes so you’ll know what they contain.
There’s something about makeup products – they just seem to multiply! Next time you go on a makeup haul take a look at the makeup cases. Start comparing and budget for a good one. You might find one that’s the perfect answer to your increasingly large cosmetic collection and it will definitely make your life easier.
