Lip Stain

Look Naturally Beautiful All Day

Lip stain is one of the hottest trends in makeup this season. You can use one to enhance a natural look, deepen your lip color or as a base coat for layering lip makeup over. With just a few simple promakeup tips, you’ll be able to get the most from this new trend.

Natural Lip Stain

Staining your lips is a way to take your ordinary lip shade and deepen it with liquid color. The depth depends on the shade you use and how many layers you apply which makes it easy to go to a deeper color. You have a wide range of choices.

Permanent Lip Stain

As we age our lips lose pigment and applying a natural lip color is a great way to add some back. If you love wearing a natural look, then having one of these products in your makeup kit is a must.

“You can look better than natural the easy way!”

Beautiful Liquid Lip Colors

The best way to choose your basic enhancing color is to match the tone to your own lip color but go just a little deeper.

For instance, if your lips tend to have a warm color to them then a dark peach color looks just a little better than real. Redheads often find warmer colors enhance their complexions. Blondes with light brown eyes look great in peach colors, too.

Fair skin tones with pink in them usually find that a darker pink liquid color gives that “better than real” appearance. This is especially true for blondes with light blue eyes.

Cherry red colors are perfect for darker skin tones. Plum looks great, too. These two color ranges also work if you are a brunette with brown eyes.

How To Apply Lip Tints

You can make your favorite tint go on evenly by making sure your lips are smooth.

Gently exfoliating lips and applying honey lip balm or lip butter in the evenings will keep your lips nourished. You’ll find that the color will penetrate evenly.

When it’s time to apply your new product, make sure that you dab it on lightly. Layering is the key to making the color work for you.

1. Apply the first coat and let it dry completely. Sometimes you’ll experience a slight tingling sensation when you first put the product on, but it lessens as it dries.

2. If you want a well-defined lip look, then use a product with a brush or one of the new pens.

3. If you are younger and have full lips then you might prefer a gloss formula – gloss with a color tint that you dab on.

Once you have applied the desired amount of coats, usually one to three, then you can layer another product on top.

Lip balm applied afterward will keep your lips from getting too dry. It should also be used to condition your lips on the evenings after you wear a stain.

Did you accidentally get the color on too dark? If so, just apply a crystal color of lip gloss over it to lighten the color.
