How To Apply Blush
"Finally, a way to make it last all day!"
Would you like to know how to apply blush and make it last all day? How about making it look natural and believable? It can be done. Makeup artists do it every single day and you can too with these face make up tips.
The Secret To Perfect Blush
Applying your blush in sheer layers is the key to the look.First, apply a “base blush” to your cheeks. You want to create the type of blush that a young child might have.
Use a blush that is in either liquid or gel form.
These blushes tend to be slightly absorbed by the skin. They act as a stain and last longer. Choose a pink or peach tint. If you have darker skin, you might prefer a soft rose tint or sheer red.
"It's smooth natural color with depth."
Wondering how to apply these blushes? It's simple. You dab on a few spots going up your cheek from the center (below the iris of your eyes) up to your temples. Then, with either your fingers or a makeup wedge you quickly blend it outward until you have a sheer covering. If you are having difficulty blending, then wet the makeup wedge and squeeze out the excess water. Then try blending. Now...for the blush that sits on top. If you decide you want more blush and you want it to last, you can use a powdered blush on top. It basically “sets” the blush that is beneath. Keep in mind that you want this to be another sheer layer – a top layer.
Technique
You use a blush brush for this. So with just ONE SWEEP, you sweep from the center of your cheeks to your temples. The reason that you start with the center is simple. At that point, when you first place your brush to your cheek, there is more product on the brush. As you sweep there is less product. That method is best because it gives you a more natural look.
| Simple TipWhen learning how to apply blush, it’s natural to make mistakes. Here’s a simple trick to cover them. If the mistake is with the liquid or gel blush, then cover it with a little foundation. If the mistake is with the powdered product, buff with a cotton ball or makeup wedge, and then apply a little powder over it. |
