A Honey Lipgloss Recipe? Seriously? Yes, there’s a lot of buzz about honey being added to cosmetics right now and with good reason. It has some amazing properties and that’s why a number of spas use it. Honey is one of the best natural ingredients there is.
Natural Honey Benefits
The benefits of honey include moisturizing properties, but beyond that it also has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. That makes it perfect for adding to beauty products.
The best part is that when combined with other ingredients you’ll find that not only does it add pleasant flavor to your lip glosses and balms but it’s not even sticky.
It’s the perfect natural ingredient!
Tasty Lipgloss Recipe
The easiest honey lipgloss recipe takes only two products. First, empty a tube of Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 into your lipgloss container. Next, add about a 1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon of honey and mix with a little toothpick or coffee stir stick. You can also use the back of a spoon.
How To Add Color:
- Stir in a little bit of mineral mica pigment as explained on the Tint Your Lipbalm tutorial.
- Melt a little of your favorite lipstick in the microwave like you did in the Easy Lipgloss Recipe . Then add the honey and a little of the Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1.
- For a nude lipgloss add a few drops of your foundation to the first lip balm and honey mixture.
* Important: This recipe is only meant for a day or two and should be stored in your refrigerator.
