Easy DIY Honey Lip Balm Recipes
Making honey lip balm is an easy homemade facial recipe. You’ve probably even got the ingredients for it in your kitchen or on hand in your makeup kit. Keep in mind that generally the difference between this and a lip gloss is that glosses tend to be shinier and have more color although that’s changed now with the introduction of tinted salves. Here are some simple ways to mix up a that perfect homemade cosmetic.
Combine leftover lip balm in your microwave. This is so simple to do. You scoop out the remaining product from it’s container and put it in a glass container for microwave use. Melt it for a few seconds, stir, melt again. Pull it out and add the honey.
Turn your favorite lipstick into a tinted lip balm product. Using lipstick allows you to color your cosmetics without having to go out and purchase mica minerals. You melt it with your balm and swirl it together. Then you add the honey.
Make a hybrid gloss/balm. There’s nothing that says you have to have one or the other if all you want to do is pour it into a little cosmetic pot. Balms have the advantage of being a little harder so they work great in tubes. Glosses are more liquid and work for pots. But you can combine the two for a hybrid gloss balm.
Create custom flavors. Melt your gloss and lip balm together then add honey and a little mint or orange flavoring. Pour into a lip gloss pot and let it set in your refrigerator overnight.
The main thing to keep in mind is that mixing cosmetics is not rocket science. Some of the best makeup products out there were started in a the kitchen. Try it out and see what you can come up with. You might just find you’ve made the perfect honey lip balm of all time.
