Homemade Facial Recipes

"What a difference they make!"

Of all the natural skin care recipes the facial recipes for homemade scrubs are the easiest to start with. There are number of different methods for making a scrub to use on your face area, but there’s one important thing that you need to keep in mind. Make it Gentle!

Gentle Homemade Facial

You want skin that is glowing and healthy. Exfoliating products, whether homemade or store bought can abrade your skin. It sort of defeats the purpose if your skin is clean but looks horrible.

Always use a light touch

Start with Baking Soda

The easiest way to get started with facial recipes is to start with a baking soda scrub.

Baking soda exfoliates your skin and soothes it, too. That makes it perfect for your face.

"Facial skincare is a beauty must!"

Simple Tip
Some women prefer sugar and sugar is a great body exfoliator. However, when you are first starting with exfoliating, try using the baking soda. Once your skin adjusts then switch to sugar.

Exfoliating Technique

Simply pour a little of the baking soda out into a bowl. Here's how to exfoliate:

    1. Wash your face with a cleanser like Cetaphil, but don’t scrub.

    2. Rinse your face and leave your face wet.

    3. Take a little bit of the baking soda on your fingers and apply to your face.

    4. Rub very lightly in a circular motion. You don’t need to press hard because the baking soda will naturally rub against your skin.

    5. When you are finished rinse twice and pat dry.

    6. Apply your favorite moisturizer.

When you first start using baking soda for exfoliating then limit it to once a week. Wash your face with it in the evening when you can apply a moisturizer immediately afterwards. That way your skin has time to recover during the evening hours. After several weeks then you can increase to twice a week. That’s as long as you don’t develop any skin irritation.
